How do I purchase tickets?

There are four simple ways to purchase tickets:

  • Online, 24 hours a day at www.theatrefrancais.com. Payment can be made by Visa or Mastercard.
  • By calling our Box Office at 416.534.6604 or 1.800.819.4981.
  • In person at the Berkeley Theatre: every performance day, from 90 min. before the start of the show. Please see our calendar.
    Payment can be made by credit card (we accept Visa and Mastercard) or cash.
  • In person at TfT’s offices, Monday to Friday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.: 21 College Street, Suite 610 in Toronto (College subway station on the Yonge-University line).
    Payment can be made using Visa, Mastercard or cash.

Do you offer special rates?

We do offer different discounts:

  • Senior discount for people 65 years of age or older.
  • Student discount, upon presentation of student card.
  • Alliance française and NFB discounts upon presentation of membership card.
  • Artists discount, upon presentation of membership card (UDA, EQUITY, ACTRA, and Théâtre Action).
  • « Pay What You Can », every Wednesday night.

Are there any additional fees when purchasing tickets?

Our prices are shown tax included (HST).
There is a $3.25 service charge per ticket for online purcjases.

How can I replace my lost tickets?

Our Box Office can reprint your tickets. Contact our Box Office at 416.534.6604 or 1.800.819.4981 and .

You will need to provide us with the contact information you gave us when you purchased the tickets: first and last name or phone number.

Where and when can I pick up my tickets?

Tickets you’ve just bought over the phone can be picked up at TfT’s Box Office Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.:
21 College Street, Suite 610 (College subway station on the Yonge-University line).

You can also pick up your tickets at the counter the day of the show, at
26 Berkeley Street in Toronto.

It is recommended that you arrive at least 30 minutes prior the start of the performance. Please be sure of the name under which the reservation has been made in order to avoid any delays.

What is the policy on exchanging tickets?

Depending on the type of subscriptions they have, subscribers can change the date of the performance they would like to attend.

This change must be made at least 48 hours before the initial show date. Not a subscriber? Sorry — there are no exchanges or refunds on single tickets.

Can I purchase gift certificates in order to offer tickets? How can I get one?

How many tickets do I have to purchase to qualify for the group rate?

Groups must be of 10 or more people for the same show to qualify for the group rate.

Pay What You Can, how does it work?

Wednesday nights, we offer people the possibility to come and see the TfT performance by giving the contribution of their choice. PWYC Tickets must be paid for in cash only.

The Box Office opens at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday nights. A first come first serve policy is in effect.

When do the doors open prior to each performance?

The doors open approximately 20 minutes before the scheduled performance time. Once the doors are closed, we do not accept anybody else in the theatre. If you arrive late, please go and see the person at the Box Office for a possible exchange.

Is it possible to book tickets until the night of the performance and pay for them once on location?

All tickets must be paid for at the time of reservation. We are not able to make any reservations without payment.

Do you sell wheel chair-accessible seating?

Because of the configuration of the theatre, the Berkeley Upstairs Theatre is not wheelchair accessible as it is on the second floor without any elevators.

Are children allowed to attend TfT shows?

Babies in arms are not permitted in the theatre and we leave it to the parents’ discretion as to the maturity of their children as to whether or not they should attend a play.

We have “family shows” for young children and adolescents. They are identified by an “F” in the season calendar.

Are photography or recording devices allowed?

In order not to disturb the show and to protect actors’ image rights, it is strictly forbidden to take any pictures (with or without flash) and/or to record during the show.

How many seats are there at the Théâtre français de Toronto?

The Berkeley Upstairs Theatre holds 167.

How long are most performances?

Performance times vary for each show. They can range from 45 minutes for some of our “Young Audiences” performances to 2 hours for those geared towards the general public.

What are the parking options?

A parking lot is situated across from 26 Berkeley Street. It is a municipal parking and offers parking spaces for a fee.

Is there a coat check at the Berkeley Theatre?

No, unfortunately, there isn’t.

Is there a bar at the Berkeley Theatre?

The bar is located on the first floor in the small lobby. Drinks and snacks are on offer. During the summer months, you can also take advantage of the Berkeley Street Theatre’s courtyard.
